La Bikelife is not yet a recognized sport; consequently, there is no activity dedicated to it. It is a street discipline based on wheelies, acrobatics, and control of the motorbike.
The sports closest to Bikelife are:
BMX Freestyle, an Olympic sport that includes tricks, style, and creativity in performing acrobatics with the bike (BMX). In Italy, this sport is under the management of the Italian Cycling Federation.
Bike Trial, a technical sport that requires overcoming obstacles on the bike through precision and balance. It is part of cycling events together with BMX Freestyle.
Bikelife gatherings, people who love this discipline often organize unauthorized meetups in which people are free to express their style through wheelies.
Since Bikelife is not recognized as a sport, there are no officially dedicated spaces where young people can practice this discipline. However, this does not stop them.
People often choose roads closed to traffic to practice what they love, Bikelife. In this way, however, safety and legality problems are created; in fact, such places do not offer immediate help in case of falls and do not even offer legal protection from the point of view of the Highway Code.
Consequently, today Bikelife is seen by the world as an illegal activity, although practiced and followed by millions of people.
The important thing that we recommend is to train in safe spaces, using all the necessary protections to avoid unnecessary injuries. Bikelife was born in the street, but to do it well and without problems, closed places, squares, parks, and authorized events are needed.
